Marketplace
Marketplace is the newest product line. Pyth Core and Pro distribute the network's aggregated prices. Marketplace lets third parties distribute their own data through the same pipes — corporate actions, alt data, regional indices, anything an institution can package as a feed. Their tagline is "Your Data, Your Rules".
Two sides of the same room
- For data providers. List a proprietary dataset, set the price, control who can subscribe, get paid. The Marketplace handles delivery to 100+ chains and to off-chain consumers in the same shapes (REST, WebSocket, on-chain pull).
- For builders & enterprises. Discover and subscribe to specialized datasets without negotiating bilateral contracts with every vendor. One integration, many providers.
What kinds of data show up there
Marketplace is intentionally broader than price feeds. Examples of dataset categories already announced or shipping:
- Corporate actions. Splits, dividends, mergers, name changes — the structured-finance pipeline that equities desks live on.
- Reference data. ISINs, CUSIPs, issuer metadata, exchange calendars, sector classifications.
- Macro & economic indicators. Inflation prints, employment, central bank decisions delivered on-chain on release.
- Alt data. Whatever a provider wants to sell: web traffic, sentiment, on-chain analytics, weather.
- Bespoke indices. Custom basket calculations a fund wants to publish but still own.
Marketplace is not Core
Why this matters
Most institutional data today is shipped through bilateral contracts: a Bloomberg license, a Refinitiv feed, a S&P subscription. Each provider has its own API, its own auth, its own delivery format. Marketplace flattens that. A single integration into Pyth gives you the open Core feeds, the paid Pro feeds, and third-party data from whoever happens to list there.
For data providers, it solves the inverse problem. Build a feed once. List it on Marketplace. Reach every protocol, app, and chain Pyth supports — without standing up your own multi-chain delivery infrastructure.
When to read this chapter again
Marketplace is still expanding. If your project needs anything more exotic than spot prices — settlement triggers on macro releases, audit-quality reference data, a specialized index — start at the Marketplace catalog and see what is already listed. The lineup grows quickly.
